DEFINITY® Business Communications System (BCS) is
a global platform offer within the DEFINITY® family. It meets the needs of
customers with 25-25,000 stations who want basics phone systems to manage costs and grow

Hardware
Model overview
Though the primary components are the same, your DEFINITY BCS can vary widely in size and
appearance, depending on your capacity requirements. It may be as small as a single
wall-mounted cabinet, or it may be as large as several tall cabinets linked together in
the same room or even hundreds of kilometers apart.

authorized dealer.
Compact Modular Cabinet Without Voice Mail
This CMC Cabinet contains 2 CO trunk circuit packs or 1-DS1 circuit card, 16-port analog
card, 24-port digital card, Music-On-Hold Interface and Modem.
Compact Modular Cabinet with Voice Mail
This CMC Cabinet contains a 10-port expansion cabinet, 2 CO trunk circuit packs or 1 DS1
circuit card, 16-port analog card, 24-port digital card, Music-On-Hold Interface, Modem,
and 6-port x 30 hour DEFINITY® AUDIX®.
Enhanced Single Carrier Cabinet Without Voice Mail
This ESCC Cabinet contains a 16-port analog card, 2 CO trunk circuit packs or 1 DS1
circuit card, 24-port digital card and Music-On-Hold interface.
Enhanced Single Carrier Cabinet with
Voice Mail
This ESCC Cabinet contains 2 CO trunk circuit packs or 1 DS1 circuit card, 16-port analog
card, 24-port digital card, Music-On-Hold Interface, and a 6-port x 30-hour DEFINITY® AUDIX®.
The DEFINITY® BCS System will operate on the
Compact Modular Cabinet (CMC), Enhanced Single-Carrier (ESCC), and the G3si and G3r
Multi-carrier cabinets (MCCs).
Each cabinet can hold different components
including the processor, ports, interfaces to other cabinets, maintenance interface, a
center stage switch, and other optional system-related hardware.
Software
The DEFINITY® BCS software includes:
- Voice applications software, including Attendant
Crisis Alert, Attendant Backup, Attendant Split Swap, Controlled Restriction, and Direct
Access/Dial by Name
- Automatic Route Selection software
- Uniform Dial Plan software
- Terranove® Terminal Emulator software
- Basic Call Management softer for a maximum of 20
agents is also available for an additional charge
- ISDN/QSIG software (additional equipment
required)
