System Overview
The PARTNER MAIL Voice Messaging System offers
small business customers an advanced, feature-rich voice processing system that helps you
serve your customers better. PARTNER MAIL also increases productivity, helps you control
expenses, and enhances your decision making when in the office or on the road. For maximum
flexibility, the PARTNER MAIL system can accommodate up to 100 voice mailboxes, six
simultaneous calls and 21 hours of message storage.
Features include remote access from any touch-tone phone, voice mail, call answer, superb
voice quality and multilingual options. It also offers cascaded outcalling--the ability to
dial up to five different numbers in turn and to notify you of new voice mail messages. In
addition, PARTNER MAIL supports up to three Automated Attendants to handle calls
automatically while providing a personal touch. You can also internally
"broadcast" a recorded message to coworkers, reducing the time you spend
distributing information.
The PARTNER MAIL system also includes a wide range of security enhancements to help
protect your messaging system and prevent toll fraud.
PARTNER MAIL is available throughout most of the Americas, Asia Pacific, Western Europe,
the Middle East and Africa.
Architectural Overview
PARTNER MAIL is a voice messaging adjunct that
interfaces with the PARTNER System via station ports.
There are three port configurations: 2, 4 or 6 ports. All port configurations contain 21
hours of storage.
Release History
Current Release 3 was introduced in July 1996. The
PARTNER MAIL System was first introduced in 1992.
Administration
Administration is via the touch-tone key pad of any
telephone set. Administration may be done either on-site or remotely with the
administration password.
Security
PARTNER MAIL contains many built-in safeguards to
protect against toll fraud or breaches in security.
- Mailboxes do not exist until the owner creates them.
- There are no pre-set passwords.
- If an unauthorized person makes repeated unsuccessful attempts to log into a mailbox,
the system will play a warning message to the person trying to log on and will send a
warning message to the mailbox owner and System Administrator. There is an optional
ability to lock the mailbox if too many unsuccessful log-in attempts are made.
- The system requires a System Administrators mailbox password and a System
Administration password.
- Transfer restrictions prevent subscribers and callers from transferring to an outside
line or operator who could place the call for them.
